Dear Members of Allison’s Foundation,

I just thought I would write to tell you of a kind deed my Son-In-Law did in Allison’s memory, and for her family.

My Daughter, and Son-in-Law live in the vicinity of Allison’s memorial on Mt Crosby Road, Anstead, and my Son-in-Law Jon, passes the site every day on his way to work as a Brisbane City Council Bus Driver.

Jon has a weekend job, helping a Landscape Contractor friend, mowing and snipping the curb sides.

Yesterday, after doing an…

eight hour shift on the ride on mower, he got home and asked my daughter if she would accompany him up to the memorial site, and help him clean up the surrounding area, and hedge, and remove the overgrown weeds.

Of course, my daughter obliged, and together they cleaned up the area considerably in preparation for Allison’s Anniversary.

Jon intends to go back out to the site, and put in some more time finishing it off to his satisfaction, as the daylight was fading yesterday.

When my Daughter told me the story this morning, not looking for any paise or reward, I couldn’t help thinking that Mr. and Mrs. Dickie, and Allison’s Girls, and Sister, might like to hear about this kind gesture, and know that there are still some good, and caring people out there, who just want to participate in doing a kind deed anonymously.

Thank you for reading my Email, and our thoughts and prayers are with all of Allison’s family, friends, and supporters.
Yours sincerely, Lyn Cormack.

Strive to be kind day, remembering Allison Baden-Clay

We never know what someone else is going through. A simple act of kindness can brighten their day and make them feel seen and appreciated. We all have the ability to make a difference in someone’s life, no matter how big or small. So let’s make it a point to strive for kindness every single day. Together, we can create a kinder, more compassionate world.

Thank you so much to everyone who wore yellow and bought sunflowers today. Thank you to Allison’s wonderful family for their ongoing kindness and inspiration to so many.

🌻 Strive to Be Kind Day 🌻

Today, we’re giving out sunflowers in honour of The Alison Baden-Clay Foundation.

These beautiful blooms are more than just flowers — they’re a symbol of kindness, hope, and a reminder to look out for one another.

We’ve made a donation to the Foundation to support their important work in raising awareness around domestic and family violence, and we’re sharing these sunflowers to help brighten someone’s day 💛

Let’s all take a moment to Strive to Be Kind — a small act can make a big difference.

Today we acknowledge Strive to Be Kind Day, an initiative of the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation that promotes kindness, respect, and safe relationships.

This cause is especially close to our community, and we stand together in support of the Foundation’s mission to foster compassion and care.

To mark the day, our students wore yellow ribbons and held a bake sale to raise funds for the Foundation.

Let’s continue to lead with empathy and make kindness part of our everyday lives. 💛

This cause is especially close to our community, and our students showed their support by wearing yellow shirts and accessories and making gold coin donations to help raise funds for the Foundation.

Kindness isn’t just something we talk about; it’s something we learn and practice every day.

Random acts of kindness were shared across the entire campus of the West Moreton Anglican College Official last week. There were splashes of yellow from banners, posters, message boards, lapel ribbons, wristbands and stickers. Students from all year levels, Prep to Year 12, enthusiastically participated in Strive To Be Kind week embracing this community service project.

They performed acts of kindness toward others and shared their messages of kindness and respect on bulletin boards placed across the Middle and Senior sub-schools. The Junior School students proudly wore wristbands and sunflower stickers as they completed various classroom activities based around “kindness and friendship”. Thank you to the Year 12 Student Leaders for choosing Strive To Be Kind as one of their major initiatives in 2024.

Sunflowers for Good

Jenny Jenner – Owner of Kalbar Sunflower Farm and Founder of Sunflowers for GoodCultivating Hope through Sunflowers: Jenny and her team believe in the symbolic strength of sunflowers to inspire hope. Kalbar Sunflowers is dedicated to creating a positive impact by using the beauty and resilience of sunflowers to uplift spirits and bring joy to individuals. As the sunflower has been adopted as one of the emblems of our Foundation, we partnered with Jenny who over many years has donated…

thousands of sunflowers to our Foundation so that we can continue to raise funds for our work in the community.

Thank you Hopgood Ganim

Hopgood Ganim for their willingness to offer services pro bono to both the Foundation and Allison’s family over many years. Throughout the years, the partners and staff of Hopgood Ganim have walked alongside us as we nagivated the complexities of the justice system, the family court system and the ACNC.  We began this journey with Freda Wigan as one of the founding and long-standing Board members. It was an honour to have her lead us with her feisty nature and quirky…

sense of humor which always added delight to our Board meetings. Our friends from Hopgood Ganim have become part of our family and we thank them for their ongoing support.

Thank you Boothy Blue Boutique

Each year, Courtney and her team partner with our Foundation including donating handmade sunflower earrings to all guests at our Strive To Be Kind Lunch event in July.
